RISING DAMP

It doesn't matter whether you live by a river, by the sea, or in the middle of a desert. If your home does not have a damp proof course - or if the existing barrier is old, deteriorated, or in the wrong place - you will get rising damp.

TANKING DAMP

Tanking damp is moisture moving through a wall where the tanking (vertical damp proof course) has been omitted or has deteriorated.

LATERAL DAMP

Lateral Damp is moisture driving itself directly through the wall. Tto can happen through a poorly painted wall with cracks or through crevices around windows and doors.
